Business Development Executive Intern

The work is about growing the number of medical stores and pharmacies that sign up for Biddano's digital healthcare platform and place orders through it. You would cover an assigned territory in Pune and speak to store owners directly.

• Finding and signing up merchants: visit stores, explain how online ordering can help their business, look for new leads and help the team meet onboarding targets.
• Getting new merchants active: follow up after registration, nudge them towards a first order, keep in touch for repeat orders, and flag inactive merchants.
• Learning the market: scout your area for potential stores, note customer feedback and the challenges owners face, and pass on competitor observations to the team.
• Looking after relationships: build a working rapport with chemists, answer basic questions on registration and digital ordering, and report order or service problems to internal teams.
• Keeping records: log visits, leads, registrations and follow-ups, send a daily activity report to your reporting manager, work to your internship targets and attend team meetings and training.

Your progress is measured on stores visited, qualified leads, merchants onboarded, merchants placing a first order, follow-up completion and how on time your daily reports are.

You can apply if you are pursuing or have completed a graduation in any discipline. Students and graduates from BBA, B.Com, B.Pharma and other relevant fields are specifically encouraged. Freshers are welcome.

• Clear communication, and confidence in explaining a service to customers.
• Willingness to learn sales and business development techniques, and to work towards targets.
• Good follow-up and coordination habits, and the ability to work independently in the field.
• Basic comfort with smartphones and mobile apps. Basic MS Excel is an advantage.
• Comfort with regular market visits and travel within your assigned territory in Pune.

Earlier experience in field sales, customer service or business development is an advantage, as is an interest in healthcare technology. A two-wheeler and a valid driving licence are preferred, not compulsory.

• Practise a one-minute pitch that explains, in simple words, why a pharmacy owner might want to order online. It helps to rehearse it aloud, in the language you would use with a shopkeeper.
• Walk through a local chemist shop and notice how it runs. Having a few real observations ready shows you understand the people you would be meeting.
• If you have done any selling, volunteering or campus event outreach, prepare a short example with a clear result, since follow-up and targets are central here.
• Brush up on basic Excel, such as keeping a simple visit and lead tracker, because daily records are part of the work.
• Make sure you can handle a day of travel in Pune, and mention a two-wheeler and licence if you have them.
