Working with dealers to grow vehicle sales

The job is about increasing sales volume in markets where Force Motors already sells and helping it enter new ones. You help dealerships prepare structured sales and promotional plans, and you monitor the daily visits that dealer sales staff make to targeted customer segments.

A large part of the work is coaching. You train dealership staff on product knowledge and soft skills, and teach the dealer to prepare customised sales proposals for customers. You also meet select customers alongside dealer teams to pitch vehicles and generate leads, and build a segment-wise customer data bank for focus products together with dealer sales personnel. Regular meetings with existing key customers keep those relationships strong.

The role also covers coordination with key financiers and banks so that loans are disbursed quickly and billing cycles move faster. You track and review whether dealerships follow Force Motors SOPs, and gather market intelligence on competitor OEMs from multiple sources to strengthen sales strategy.

How to prepare for a dealer-facing sales role

  • It helps to learn how vehicle dealerships work: how enquiries turn into leads, then quotes, then billing. Being able to talk through this shows you understand the work.
  • Practise explaining a product simply, since coaching dealer staff on product knowledge is part of the job. Try teaching a friend something technical in five minutes.
  • Prepare an example of persuading or coordinating with people, from a college event, internship or part-time work. The role involves pitching, training and following up with several parties.
  • Read up on commercial vehicle makers and their competitors. Gathering competitor information is a listed duty, so a few informed observations will help in an interview.
  • Get comfortable with basic spreadsheets, as building a customer data bank by segment means organising information neatly.
