POS Support Intern

This is a learning post attached to the POS support team, where you assist with everyday terminal operations. The duties group into three areas.

• Setup and field work: helping install, configure and roll out terminals, plus assisting with testing devices and supporting issues in the field.
• Fault-finding and upkeep: learning to trace hardware and connectivity faults, and helping with scheduled servicing and simple repairs.
• Records and escalation: logging every device, deployment and reported fault accurately, and handing problems you cannot solve to the right person.

Location is the firm condition: you need to be living in Abuja. No degree or years of experience are mentioned in the post.

• Some familiarity with computers, electronics or IT support is a plus, though not compulsory.
• Real curiosity about POS technology, fixing hardware and technical support work.
• Problem-solving ability and clear communication.
• A readiness to take instructions and get hands-on with the devices.
• Comfort working as part of a team.

• It helps to have one short story ready about fixing a computer, phone or gadget, including how you narrowed down the cause.
• Brush up on how devices join a network, since connectivity problems are part of the job.
• Practise describing a technical fault in plain words, as communication is one of the skills sought.
• Be clear about when you would stop and pass a problem upward instead of guessing.
• Get into the habit of jotting down what you tried and what happened, because the role involves keeping device records.
