Legal Internship

Apport SoftwareMumbaiInternshipPosted 4 days ago

Apport Software is offering a legal internship in Mumbai, where you would research technology and SaaS law and help draft and review contracts. It pays ₹7,000 to ₹10,000 a month, runs for 6 months, and is open only to candidates based in Mumbai.

What you would work on as a legal intern

A large part of the work is research. You would look into legal questions around technology, software, SaaS, data protection and commercial law, and keep track of changes in laws and regulations that affect the technology industry. What you find would go into legal summaries, notes and other research documents.

The other part is documents. You would help prepare, draft and review contracts, agreements, NDAs and similar papers. When reviewing commercial agreements, you would point out key clauses, possible risks and parts that need a closer look.

You would also keep legal databases, contract records and document management systems up to date, and support the legal team with routine tasks and paperwork.

Who can apply and what to have ready

The posting is specific, so check each point before you spend time on it:

  • You are currently pursuing an LLB or a 5-year integrated law course at a recognised university or institution.
  • You live in Mumbai. The role is open to Mumbai candidates only.
  • You can work in the office full time, 5 days a week, for 6 months.
  • You can start between 16th Oct'26 and 20th Nov'26.

On skills, it asks for strong legal research and drafting, a good grasp of contract law and commercial agreements, and good written and spoken English. It also wants attention to detail, including spotting inconsistencies and legal risks, and the ability to work alone or with the legal team. Interest in technology law, SaaS and commercial legal work is an added advantage.

How to make your application stronger

  • Keep a short drafting sample ready, such as a clause, a summary note or a research memo from a moot court, internship or coursework. It shows your writing better than a claim does.
  • Revise the basics of contract law and be able to explain what a typical NDA is meant to protect.
  • Read a little about data protection and software or SaaS agreements, so the subject is not new to you.
  • Practise reading an agreement slowly and noting anything that contradicts itself or looks risky. This is the attention to detail the posting asks for.
  • Be ready to say how you keep records organised, since maintaining databases and contract files is part of the work.

Skills to show

This posting asks for legal research, legal writing, contract management and document management. Similar roles most often ask for corporate work, legal documentation, agreements, drafting and spoken English, so examples of drafting and clear communication will help you.
