Cyber Security Internship

• Keep an eye on systems, networks and security alerts for signs of threats, and go through logs to look into suspicious activity with supervision.
• Run basic vulnerability assessments and security checks, then note down the risks and weaknesses you find.
• Help with incident response and simple security investigations, and keep written records of incidents, assessments and procedures.

• Revise Python and be ready to show a small script you wrote, such as a log parser or a simple port checker.
• Get comfortable on a Linux command line. Reading logs is part of this work, so practise searching and filtering them.
• Brush up on networking basics like IP, DNS, ports and common protocols, so alerts make sense to you.
• Try a practice lab or beginner capture-the-flag site, and write a short report on one weakness you found and how to fix it.
• Keep any security coursework or mini projects ready to mention, since the work involves documenting findings clearly.
