Business Development Internship

Your work centres on farmers. You will reach out to them through calls and virtual conversations, build trust, and keep the relationship going over the long term. You will also listen to what each farmer needs and suggest products that suit it.

On the sales side, you will pitch and promote Gramik's products to drive sales. You will also advise farmers on how to use the products and what benefits to expect from them. Alongside this, you will keep accurate records of every conversation and follow-up.

You will support the sales team in reaching its targets, and look for ways to widen and strengthen the network of farmers the company works with. The skills tied to the role are negotiation, effective communication, customer acquisition and sales strategy.

• Education: a BSc Agriculture or MSc Agriculture is mandatory.
• Availability: you must be free for a full-time, in-office internship lasting 3 months.
• Start date: you should be able to begin between 19 October and 23 November 2026.
• Personal qualities: strong communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, a target-driven approach, and the ability to build trust and keep relationships going.
• Interest: sales, agriculture and rural markets.

Freshers can apply, and so can women who are starting or restarting their careers.

• Practise explaining a product's use and benefits in plain, simple words over a phone call. Ask a friend to play the farmer and challenge you with questions.
• Revisit your agriculture coursework, so you can speak confidently about inputs and farming practices when advising someone.
• Prepare one or two examples from college, a project or a part-time task where you earned someone's trust or followed up patiently.
• Build the habit of noting down every conversation and next step. Be ready to say how you keep records tidy.
• Think about how you would handle a hesitant buyer, since negotiation and sales strategy are among the skills listed.
