Accountant Internship

The post lists ten duties, and nearly all of them are supporting work within accounts: bookkeeping, payments, reconciliation and tax paperwork.

• Keep day-to-day bookkeeping entries in order, including vouchers and other financial transactions.
• Back up the payables and receivables side of the work.
• Prepare payment statements along with invoices, bills and receipts.
• Match bank statements against the books and look after the ledgers.
• Track expenses and help put together financial reports.
• Handle paperwork for GST and TDS, plus related compliance tasks.
• Keep financial paperwork and account books organised.
• Liaise with other internal departments and with vendors on account queries.
• Help with payroll processing and the records of employee reimbursements.
• Enter data and take on other accounting work that is handed over.

• Education: a bachelor's course in commerce, accounting, finance or a related subject, either under way or finished recently.
• Knowledge: a basic grasp of bookkeeping and accounting concepts, and a readiness to pick up practical procedures.
• Software: comfort with MS Excel and an accounting package such as Tally is preferred, not compulsory.
• Working style: accurate records, careful handling of confidential financial information, good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to finish assigned tasks on time.
• Schedule: you must be free for a full-time internship at the office in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The week runs Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

• Revise the basics of Tally ERP 9 or Prime, especially entering vouchers and working with ledgers.
• Practise a bank reconciliation on sample figures so you can talk through each step.
• Get comfortable with simple Excel formulas and tidy data entry.
• Read a beginner-level explanation of GST and TDS paperwork.
• Prepare an example from your coursework or projects that shows you keep records accurate and treat sensitive numbers with care.
